Hospital travel
Due to lack of car parking space, many hospitals in our region strongly recommend that patients, visitors and staff use public transport when travelling to their sites. Visit the hospital on the bus and you don’t have to worry about congested roads, struggling to find a parking space or getting lost.
It's easy to travel to hospital by bus. If you are unsure where to alight, ask the driver to alert you when you reach the hospital stop. Many of our buses are easily accessible to all passengers due to their low floors. We also have seats on our buses specially dedicated for use by elderly and disabled passengers.
Hull Hospitals
Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill Hospital and Spire Hull & East Riding Hospital are all served by our bus services. To find out which service is best for you, use our journey planner to find the times and stops of your bus.
Hull Royal Infirmary has a bus stop right outside, so it can be a shorter walk from the bus stop than from the car park! Lots of buses stop there, and even if you don’t have a direct bus it’s easy to change at the Interchange as the hospital is only a short bus ride from Hull City Centre.
Castle Hill Hospital has several bus stops in the hospital grounds, so most departments are only a short walk from the bus. Some buses go around the site, and some stop on Castle Road outside, so please check with your driver if you aren’t sure where to catch your bus home.
Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital is a ten or fifteen minute walk from the main ‘Red Lion’ stop in Anlaby, or alternatively we have some buses that stop on the road right outside. If you aren’t sure, please ask your driver where to get on and off the bus.
If you're a Hull Hospitals employee, take a look at your intranet to find out how to get discounted multi-operator bus travel with a special Hull Hospitals bus pass.
East Riding Hospitals
Most hospitals in the East Riding can be accessed by bus, although a short walk may be involved in some cases.
East Riding Community Hospital can be found on Swinemoor Lane in Beverley.
Services 41 and 43 pass the hospital regularly, but you'll need to use the bus stops on Swinemoor Lane or Hull Bridge Road, as these buses stay on the main road and do not go into the hospital site.
