Buses are nearly all back to normal - see timetables on the timetable page.
Due to social distancing, buses can carry fewer passengers than normal. Plan your journeys around quiet times using our When2Travel journey planner on our website, and track your bus live on the app or website to see how busy it is in real time.
As buses can carry fewer people due to social distancing, it is possible some journeys may become full. The bus will then show 'Bus Full' on the destination display, and will not stop to pick anyone else up until people have alighted to provide free seats. You will have to wait for the next bus. You can help keep buses clear by travelling at quiet times. Find out the best times to travel by using our When2Travel tool or our live bus tracker. If the last bus of the day on a particular route becomes full, we will either send a second bus out, or we will continue to pick people up even after social distancing capacity is reached, so that no one is left stranded. Since the schools returned, we have seen buses especially busy at school start/finish times, so if you can, please avoid these times. We are monitoring passenger numbers on a daily basis, and we are using all our available resources to put on as many extra buses as we can, including 75 dedicated school buses and extra buses at certain times on Services 7/7A, 66, 77, 104, 128, 154 & X46.

Please use contactless payments or buy a ticket in advance on our app. We are still accepting cash if you have no alternative.
Please remember social distancing both at your stop, and on board the bus. Follow signage on the buses which show you where to sit, and what to do when alighting.
If you have a disability and need assistance our drivers are still there to help. Simply speak to the driver as you board.
We have been cleaning our buses even more thoroughly since the crisis began, with cleaners at busy points to clean buses between journeys, extra cleaning of handrails and seats, and disinfectant 'fogging' of buses.
Wash your hands or use hand sanitiser before and after every journey. We do not provide hand sanitiser on the buses, so please bring your own if you do not have hand washing facilities at the start/end of your journey.
Our Hull Travel Centre is now open Monday-Friday, but our Scarborough Travel Centre remains closed. You can also get advice from BusLine by ringing 01482 59 29 29, open 8am-6pm Monday-Saturday.

Pocklington: closure of West Green

Today 00:00 - 15th Nov

From Friday 23 October until mid-November West Green will be closed for gasworks. During this time, Service X46/X47 will divert via Barmby Road into Pocklington, missing stops on Hodsow Lane and West Green. If you normally board or alight the bus here, please use an alternative stop.

Hull: Hessle Road closure

21st Oct - 15th Nov

The second phase of roadworks on Hessle Road starts on 21 October, with the closure between Boulevard and St George's Road.

Service 51 will resume its normal route.

Service 57 will divert between the Hessle Road flyover and the Boulevard junction via Brighton Street, Witty Street and Boulevard in both directions.

In addition, on 24 and 25 October after 19:00, the Boulevard junction will also be closed. Buses will additionally divert via Goulton Street and Strickland Street during this time.

Roadworks on different parts of Hessle Road will continue for the next few months, so keep checking back on our Services Updates page for the latest details.

Additional buses on Service X46

21st Oct - 31st Dec

We've been seeing the Service X46 which leaves York at 3.47pm getting busy with school children, so from today there'll be an additional bus running at this time to carry the school pupils, helping provide more space for other passengers. We are also running an extra bus at 10.50am from Pocklington into York, as this journey has also been getting busy.

Anlaby: Springfield Way/Haltemprice closure

19th - 26th Oct

Roadworks will close Springfield Way and Gorton Road, outside Haltemprice Leisure Centre, each evening after 18:00 and between 07:00 and 23:00 on Sunday 25 October.

Service 154 will divert from Springfield Way via Wolfreton Drive, Wilson Street and Beverley Road to Willerby Square and resume normal route. Buses towards Hull will follow the same route in reverse.

*** STOP PRESS *** The roadworks will continue until the evening of Monday 26 October, and buses will be back to normal from Tuesday 27 October.

High Hunsley/Newbald: Closure diverting Service 143

19th - 30th Oct

The road between High Hunsley and North Newbald will be closed from Monday 19 October for around 12 days.

Service 143 towards Beverley will serve Townend Road as normal, then return through North Newbald and South Newbald, then use the A1034 to the B1230 before following this to resume its normal route. Buses towards Ferriby will follow this route in reverse.

Hull: Monument Bridge stop not served

19th Oct - 1st Nov

A new bus shelter is being installed at Monument Bridge between 19 October and 1 November and buses will not be stopping here during this time. Buses will instead use Stop B on Carr Lane, next to the shelter outside Primark.

Withernsea: Stops out of use during KCOM works

16th Oct - 27th Nov

KCOM engineering works in various parts of Withernsea are making some bus stops inaccessible. These are rolling works around the town and are expected to last some time. Buses will not be able to stop where roadworks make it unsafe to do so.

Hull: Stop out of use on Anlaby Park Road North

14th Oct - 2nd Nov

Due alleviate congestion on the Anlaby Road closure diversion, the stop on Anlaby Park Road North near Boothferry Road is out of use. The nearest alternative is around the corner on Boothferry Road.

Hull: Anlaby Road eastbound closure

13th Oct - 2nd Nov

Due to roadworks, the Anlaby Park end of Anlaby Road will be closed eastbound between Anlaby Park Road North and Calvert Lane from 13 October. This closure is expected to last at least three weeks.

Services 151/152/153/154/155A travelling into Hull will divert via Anlaby Park Road North and Boothferry Road, resuming normal route at Kennings roundabout.

Service 51 will operate a loop following its normal route to Sibelius Road, then return via Boothferry Road to resume normal service at Fiveways.

Wyke College Services 925/926 travelling into Hull will divert via Anlaby Park Road North, Boothferry Road and North Road. Service 939 will divert from Anlaby Park Road South via Boothferry Road and North Road.

Afternoon Hessle High School buses will divert. H1 will travel direct via Boothferry Road to Kennings roundabout then follow the normal route. H3 will follow its normal route to the top of Anlaby Park Road North, then terminate here. H4 will follow its normal route to Askew Avenue, then via Boothferry Road and North Road to Calvert Lane and back to its normal route.

Afternoon Sirius Academy 296/297 buses will divert via Boothferry Road and North Road to Calvert Lane and resume normal route.

In addition, the bus stop on Anlaby Park Road North southbound, near the junction of Boothferry Road, will be suspended during these works. The stop around the corner on Boothferry Road is the nearest alternative stop.

Etton: Diversion for Service 142

1st Oct - 6th Nov

From Monday 5 October until Friday 6 November there will be a road closure in Etton, causing a diversion for Service 142. Buses from Cherry Burton will approach Etton as normal, but the will turn right onto Main Street. If you're catching the bus in Etton, please wait in a safe place on Main Street and signal clearly to the bus. Buses will then go up to Holme on the Wolds and back down to South Dalton. Stops in South Dalton and Holme will be served as normal.

Quiet times on Service 80

Since the schools returned we've seen some buses on Service 80 getting busy, especially at certain times of day. If you have a choice of when to travel, you may want to aim for the quietest times on this service, which are outside of school start/finish times. An extra bus will be put on just for college students at 4.05pm from Beverley, so this should help keep the public bus free for commuters and shoppers.

Extra bus on Service 246

14th Sep - 31st Dec

Since the schools returned we've seen some buses on Service 246 getting busy, especially at certain times of day. If you have a choice of when to travel, you may want to aim for the quietest times on this service, which is any time after morning rush hour has finished. An extra bus just for college students will be put on in the morning to ensure the public bus has more space for commuters.

Extra bus on Withernsea route

14th Sep - 31st Dec

Since the schools returned we've seen some buses on our services between Withernsea and Hull getting busy, especially at certain times of day - we're putting on extra buses to try to help. There will be an extra Service 77 bus from Thorngumbald/Hedon into Hull, starting from Thorngumbald at 7.55am. If you are waiting for this journey and the first bus is showing 'bus full', a second bus will be along shortly.

Hull: Marina/Fruit Market stop not served

27th Jul onwards

Construction work around the Fruit Market means that from Sunday 26 July Service 78 temporarily isn't able to serve the stops on Wellington Street and Humber Street at the marina. Instead, buses will be diverting, picking up at an alternative stop on Tower Street, near The Deep, in both directions.

York: Coppergate eastbound closure - changes for Services 45/46, X46/X47 & 747

19th Jun - 15th Dec

To aid social distancing, Coppergate in York will be closed indefinitely eastbound from 19 June. Buses heading towards the railway station are unaffected.

Buses heading out of York will divert after Low Ousegate via Clifford Street, Tower Street, then left into Piccadilly.

Services 45/46 then continue to the lights and turn right into Stonebow. Services X46/X47 & 747 turn right after Banana Warehouse onto Merchantgate.

Services X46/X47 will be unable to serve their usual stop on Piccadilly so will stop on Clifford Street at stop TG and on Piccadilly by Banana Warehouse at stop PD.

These disruptions could affect future journeys

Hull: Southcoates Lane closure

24th - 25th Oct

On Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 October the junction of Holderness Road and Southcoates Lane will be closed for roadworks. Services 75 & 76 will divert. Buses going into Hull will divert from Southcoates Lane via Newbridge Road, Ellis Street and Mount Pleasant to rejoin Holderness Road. Buses leaving Hull will turn off Holderness Road at the Mount Pleasant junction and use Mount Pleasant, Ellis Street and Newbridge Road to rejoin Southcoates Lane. Buses won't be able to serve stops on Holderness Road between Mount Pleasant and Southcoates Lane. If you normally board or alight the bus here, please use an alternative stop.

Diversion for Service 153 due to race

25th Oct

Haltemprice 10k race takes place on Sunday 25 October, so some morning Service 153 journeys will have to divert.
The Service 153 which leaves Welton at 9.47am will divert between North Ferriby and Anlaby via Ferriby High Road, A164 and Tranby Lane.
The Service 153 which leaves Hull at 10am will divert between Tranby Lane and North Ferriby via Tranby Lane, A164 and Ferriby High Road.
Kirk Ella, West Ella and Swanland can't be served by these two journeys. Roads should be reopening around 10.30am, so all later buses can run their normal route.

King Street in Cottingham closed

28th - 29th Oct

King Street in Cottingham will be closed for roadworks on Wednesday 28 October.
The work is only expected to take one day, but there's the possibility it may run over into Thursday 29 October.
Services 63, 104, 105 & X47 will divert from Thwaite Street via Newgate Street and South Street. Services 63, 105 & X47 will also run via Baynard Avenue and West End Road to reach Eppleworth Road/Harland Way. Stops will be missed on King Street and Northgate.
Services 80 & 180 will divert from Northgate via New Village Road, Thwaite Street and Newgate Street, missing stops on King Street.
If you normally board the bus at one of the stops that will be missed, please use an alternative stop, for example South Street or Newgate Street. You can catch the bus at any stop on the diversion route.
