These may affect your journey
Due to a large number of drivers isolating following Test & Trace notifications we are seeing cancellations on several routes in the Hull area and in Scarborough today. We advise customers to track buses in advance to ensure your service time is running. Please accept our apologies for this matter.
Services affected include Hull area Services 56, 57, 66 & 104/154 and Scarborough Services 7/7A, 8, 11 & Beachcomber, which will run less frequently than usual. Most services outside of the Hull area are running as normal.
On Sunday night the following Service 56/57 journeys will not run:
The Service 56s at 1915, 1935, 2035 & 2135 from Hull, and the return journeys from ASDA Bilton at 2002, 2102, 2122 & 2202.
The Service 57 from Asda Bilton at 1942 to Hessle and the Service 57 from Hessle at 2027 to Asda.
Travel after 7pm this evening for just £1 per journey! This great offer is available every day in July and August across our full network (except open top buses). Buy your ticket from the driver or on our app.
Hull: We have been notified by Hull City Council that Holderness Road will be closed outbound between Ings Road and Diadem Grove. The closure will be in effect from 7 July until 5 August between the hours of 1900 and 2300 only. Inbound services are unaffected.
For the duration of the works, services 56, 57, 240 will be required to divert outbound via Maybury Road, Hopewell Road, Staveley Road and Diadem Grove. All stops on the diversion route will be observed.
- Affected routes:
The Main Road between Withernsea and Thirtlebridge (Roos Road) will be closed for flood alleviation work. Services to and from Sand Le Mere/Roos will need to operate from Withernsea via Hull Road and use Rectory Road into Roos before returning to Sand Le Mere.
This means stops on Arthur Street and North Road, Withernsea will not be served.
Due to emergency gas works, our Service 55 and X5 are having to divert via Treeton Road and Hallgate, Howden.
To aid social distancing, Coppergate in York will be closed indefinitely eastbound from 19 June 2020. Buses heading towards the railway station are unaffected.
Buses heading out of York will divert after Low Ousegate via Clifford Street, Tower Street, then left into Piccadilly.
Services 45/46 then continue to the lights and turn right into Stonebow. Services X46/X47 & 747 turn right after Banana Warehouse onto Merchantgate.
Services X46/X47 will be unable to serve their usual stop on Piccadilly so will stop on Clifford Street at stop TG and on Piccadilly by Banana Warehouse at stop PD.
These disruptions could affect future journeys
Similar to other transport and hospitality companies across the country, we are finding that a number of our colleagues are receiving notifications from track and trace asking them to self-isolate. This seems to have increased markedly over the last couple of weeks, with up to eight drivers a day being 'pinged', meaning they must stop driving immediately and cannot work for up to 10 days.
Our operations team are working as hard as they can to try and cover as many routes as we can, but unfortunately we have been forced to cancel some journeys, especially on frequent routes where buses normally run every few minutes (these are mainly in Hull and Scarborough).
To try to avoid disruption for passengers, we are bringing in temporary timetables on a small number of routes in Hull and Scarborough, which will start from Monday 26 July.
The routes affected are Services 7/7A, 33, 44 & 66.
- Affected routes:
York: On Monday 26th July from 19.30 the junction at Skeldgate / Bridge Street / Micklegate will be closed for resurfacing.
The X47’s due to depart York at 1947 & 2105 will need to divert via Tower Street, missing stops on Rougier St & Micklegate.
Driffield: Due to the vintage steam rally, Middle Street South will be closed to traffic on Saturday 31 July between the hours of 1730 and 2100.
For the duration of the closure, Services 45 & 121 will be required to divert via the market day route in both directions (Middle Street South, Albion Street, Harper Street & Wansford Road).
York: The York 10k road race will be taking place in the city centre on Sunday 1 August. Various roads will be closed until 1200 meaning services will not be able to access Coppergate or York Station.
For the duration of the closure, Services X46 & X47 will be required to operate via Foss Island Road, Peasholme Green, Stonebow and Piccadilly, terminating / commencing the service at Piccadilly stop PA.
- Affected routes:
Hull: Priory Road in Hull will be closed for 8 weeks from Monday 2 August until Friday 24 September for carriageway repair and resurfacing works.
For the duration of the closure, service 63 will be required to divert via Thwaite Street, Hull Road, Bricknell Avenue and County Road North in both directions, observing all stops on the diversion route.
