Service Changes From Sunday 20 July 2025
With refreshed timetables, smarter routes, and new journey options, these changes are designed to keep you moving—whether you're commuting, heading into town, or travelling across the region this summer.
📋 See below for a full summary of what’s changing on your route.
We’re making thoughtful updates across the Scarborough Locals network to improve punctuality, route efficiency, and access to key destinations around town.
Scarborough Locals 2 & 5 – Reliable, Refined, Ready to Go
Minor timetable adjustments are being implemented to enhance overall reliability.
✅ You’ll still enjoy the same route with better on-time performance throughout the day.
Scarborough Locals 4 – A Better Way Around Town
Service 4 is being rerouted through Scarborough Town Centre to provide better links for local journeys and connections.
🧭 The revised route will now run via:
📍 Dean Road
📍 Aberdeen Walk
📍 York Place
📍 Harcourt Place
📍 St Thomas Street
📍 Castle Road
📍 Queen Street
This means easier access to shops, services, and other town centre routes.
Scarborough Locals 8 – Route Change Due to Parking Issues
Persistent parking problems on the existing route have made it difficult for buses to pass safely.
To ensure reliability and passenger safety, Service 8 will now turn left from Woodland Grove onto Old Scalby Road, avoiding the most affected areas while continuing to serve the community effectively.
Scarborough Locals 9 & 10 – Small Change for to prepare for Smoother School-Term Travel
To tackle parking congestion near the hospital during busy periods, a couple of trips per day on Services 9 and 10—specifically around school start and finish times—will now stop on Scalby Road outside the hospital, instead of entering the hospital grounds.
Scarborough Sevens (7/7A) – Smoother Journeys This Summer
As the summer season gets busier, we’re implementing measures to help keep your journeys on time, especially along Seamer Road, where seasonal traffic can cause delays.
These adjustments will add more robustness to the timetable, allowing for increased traffic and helping services stay punctual throughout the day.
Our goal is to keep you moving, regardless of how busy the roads become.
Coaster 13
Thanks to passenger feedback, we’re making a small but helpful change to improve connections on Coaster 13.
🕒 The 14:55 journey from Bridlington will now run slightly earlier between Marton Road and Reighton Watson Lane.

🌙 Evening Journeys – Now Mondays to Saturdays!

North Riding 81 & 194 – Ready for a Busy Summer
As we head into the busiest time of the year, we are aware that roads—particularly those around the A64—can experience significant delays due to increased traffic.
To help keep your journeys running smoothly, we’re introducing minor timetable changes to North Riding services 81 and 194.
These adjustments are designed to add resilience to the timetable, helping us stay reliable even during the height of summer congestion.
Beverley Road Lines 43
We’re making timetable adjustments to Beverley Road Lines 43 to help buses run more reliably and on time, especially during busy periods.
Anlaby Road Lines 51, 52, 53, 54, 56, 57, 58 & 59 – Quicker Morning Journeys This Summer
We’re making minor adjustments to weekday morning peak journeys this summer to reflect lighter traffic conditions during the school holidays.
🕒 With the roads clearer, buses are often arriving early and waiting at stops. To improve your journey:
➡️ Timings are being sped up slightly to reduce excessive waiting times
➡️ This means quicker, smoother trips—getting you around faster
