Free Travel for Veterans and Serving Armed Forces Personnel on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day

Today Wed 28th Oct 2026

lest we forgetAs a company with many colleagues who have served in the military, we are honoured to show our support and gratitude to the Armed Forces community. This offer is our way of helping veterans and serving personnel attend remembrance events, visit family and friends, and take part in commemorations across our region.

Veterans and serving members are welcome to travel free of charge on all East Yorkshire bus services by simply showing a valid military ID card, Veterans Card, or by wearing military uniform or medals when boarding.

At 11am on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, our drivers will observe the national two-minute silence, pulling over safely where operationally possible. We invite passengers travelling with us to join in this moment of reflection as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, those who served before us, and those who continue to serve today.

Many members of the East Yorkshire team are veterans themselves and, where appropriate, some colleagues may choose to wear regimental medals or other service insignia as a mark of respect and remembrance.

As communities across East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire come together to remember, we are proud to play a small part in helping people attend services, pay their respects and honour those who have served.

To all who have served, those who continue to serve, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we thank you. Their courage, dedication and service will never be forgotten.

We will remember them.
