Coming Soon: Child Ticket Verification in our app

At East Yorkshire Buses, we are pleased to be able to offer discounts to children and families. 

It’s really important that we ensure that only those who are entitled to the discounts are using them. This helps us protect children from having to pay more in the future, which we know is important to you. 

How will verification work?

To activate a child ticket the user must be verified. When viewing tickets available to purchase, those that require you to be verified are highlighted by a yellow banner “Verification Required”. You can then tap on it to open the verification process and then follow the steps on screen. This will involve taking or uploading a photo of the child/young person being verified and providing proof of age. 

The verification is normally complete within 24 hours, but at busier times may take longer. 

The good news is this is a one-off check — once verified, you can generally continue buying child tickets without needing to do it again.
