What happens to my app tickets when the clocks change?
The clocks go back at 02:00 Sunday, 29 October, so we're all getting an extra hour of sleep - don't spend it worrying about your app tickets...
Our website and app are built to automatically adjust around the clocks going forward or backwards, so you won't miss out on any ticket time. We know it can be a bit confusing, so here's how we adjust to the clock change twice a year.
Here at East Yorkshire, all our app tickets expire after a set period. We know this can be a bit confusing, so as a general rule, if you started a stopwatch, then no matter what time zone it is, your ticket would expire after the correct number of hours.
For example, if you activated a 24 hour ticket at 12:00 on Saturday, 28 October, your ticket would expire at 11:00 on Sunday, 29 October. This same rule applies to week, 30 day, Flexi5 or Flexi20 tickets that are activated before the clocks go back.
Make sure your phone's time updates correctly before you try to access your ticket!
Our app is built to show in East Yorkshire's local time, so if your device is set to a different time zone, then your app will warn you, and in some cases, disable the ticket, which is why you should ensure that your time updates correctly before you open up the East Yorkshire Buses app for the first time on Sunday, 29 October.
