Service changes are now live!

What’s improving from 15 February 2026

These changes include:

• More reliable timetables across North Yorkshire, Hull, East Riding and York
• An improved Service 4, extended to serve Scalby Mills and the Sea Life Centre
• Improved links from Ravenscar, Burniston and Cloughton, with Service 9X providing connections to Scarborough Hospital and Proudfoot Superstore
• More convenient links to the North Bay seafront, with most Coaster 12 extended via North Marine Road and Peasholme Gap (making it easier to reach Peasholm Park and Improved routing via Bempton Lane on evenings and Sundays.
• Extra journeys on services Y12/Y14
• An extension to Anlaby Road Lines 52, providing new links for the Willerby Parkway area

North Riding – bringing services together under one umbrella

Over the coming months, we’ll be bringing all of our North Yorkshire and York bus services together under one umbrella: North Riding.

This will also include our Procters “Dales & District” services. Customer research has shown that having several different service brands across the area can be confusing, so this change will make it clearer and easier to recognise our services. This will complement our existing North Riding services and will make it easier to navigate and understand the network, including the key destinations served across the region.

As part of this update, we’ll soon be introducing new network maps and updated timetable publicity. You’ll also start to see the North Riding name appearing on buses and across our customer information.

All North Riding services, including the Procters network, will also soon be shown together across our website, online timetables, and journey planning information, making it easier to find the right service in one place.

Summary of changes

North Riding services

Service 2 – Scarborough Town Centre to Evelyn Drive

• Timetable changes will improve reliability.
• Customers will benefit from a later journey home, with departures now at 17:25 (Monday to Friday) and 17:35 (Saturday), replacing the current 17:10 journey.
• Due to low demand, the 07:10 Saturday journey from Scarborough will be withdrawn.

Service 3 – Scarborough Town Centre to Hutton Buscel

• Service 3 will operate a simple hourly timetable Monday to Saturday between the Town Centre and Hutton Buscel:
• Service X3 will be withdrawn due to low passenger numbers on this trial service.
• Services to and from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside will continue to operate with Service 28.

Service 4 – Scarborough Town Centre to Scalby Mills (Sea Life Centre)

• Timetable changes will improve reliability.
• Service 4 will operate approximately every 75 minutes, Monday to Saturday.
• We’re pleased to be extending Service 4 beyond Newby to serve Scalby Mills and the Sea Life Centre, operating via Coldyhill Lane, Cross Lane and Scalby Mills Road
• Returning via Field Lane, Scalby Road, Proudfoot and Newby Loop, then the normal route to Scarborough.
• This improvement builds on the success of stepping in last year to protect bus services in the Newby area, helping ensure local residents continued to have access to key destinations.
• We will be monitoring the service closely and will work with customers and stakeholders to grow passenger numbers and, where possible, increase frequency in the future.

Service 5 – Scarborough Town Centre to Ravenscar

• Service 5 will be withdrawn and replaced by Service 9X.
• Following customer feedback, Service 9X will provide improved links for Ravenscar, Cloughton and Burniston, including much-requested connections to:
  • Scarborough Hospital
  • Proudfoot Superstore

Services 7 & 7A – Scarborough Town Centre to Eastfield (loop)

• Timetable changes will improve reliability and provide more resilience during peak times, particularly in the Seamer Road area.

Service 8

• Timetable changes will improve reliability

Services 9 / 9A / 9X / 10 & 10A – High Mill / Scalby to Scarborough Town Centre / Cayton

• Timetable changes will improve reliability.
• Services 9 and 10 will now terminate at Scalby Road after serving Scalby and will no longer serve Field Lane.
  • Daytime Service 4 will provide services in the Field Lane area.
• Service 10A will continue to operate via Field Lane, operating:
  • Early mornings and early evenings (Monday to Saturday)
  • Sunday daytime
• Service 9X will operate as the normal 9A route to Scarborough Hospital, then via:
  • Scalby Road, Field Lane, Burniston Road, then as per the previous route to Ravenscar.

Service 28 / L28 (formerly 128) Scarborough to Helmsley via Pickering and Kirkbymoorside

• Service 128 will be renumbered to Service 28.
• Timetable changes will improve reliability.
• Lady Lumley journeys will run as Service L28 and will remain open to the general public.

Service 81 – Malton to Sheriff Hutton to York and Service 194 – Malton to Hovingham

• A new timetable will be introduced to improve reliability.

Services 12 (Woodthorpe / Monks Cross / Haxby)

• Times changed for reliability, with minor changes as a result.
• Additional weekday journeys will be introduced:
  • 14:26 from Piccadilly to Woodthorpe
  • 15:05 from Woodthorpe to the Railway Station
• On Saturdays:
  • 14:25 from Piccadilly to Woodthorpe
  • 15:05 from Woodthorpe to Piccadilly
  • An additional 08:10 journey from the Railway Station to Woodthorpe
  • An additional 08:35 journey from Woodthorpe to the Railway Station (Customers can continue through to Merchantgate, as the service forms the 09:00 Service 747 to Pocklington).

Coaster services

Coaster 12 / 12A & 12C Scarborough - Bridlington via Filey

• Timetable changes will improve reliability.
• Most Service 12 journeys will continue to and from Peasholme Gap (Monday to Saturday) via North Marine Road, restoring a regular service along this corridor.
• This improvement has been introduced through partnership working with local stakeholders, helping us to restore an important link for customers.
• The change will also make it easier for Coaster customers to reach these destinations as we approach the start of the spring and summer season.
• Following feedback from the East Riding EP Forum (a regular meeting where local community representatives and stakeholders share feedback on bus services and travel needs across the area), we are delighted to introduce the following improvements:
  • The last two journeys, Monday to Saturday, from both Scarborough and Bridlington will operate via Bempton Lane
  • All Sunday journeys (both directions) will operate via Bempton Lane

East Rider services

East Rider 24 – Hull to Hornsea and East Rider 25 – Beverley to Hornsea

• Times changed for reliability.

East Rider 75 / X7 Hull - Withernsea

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.

East Rider X45 / X46 / X47 Hull or Driffield to York

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.
• We have been working to improve reliability on these routes, but have been disrupted by major roadworks on the A1079, and  Jock’s Lodge. Our teams will continue to monitor performance and make further adjustments where needed.

East Rider 41 and 141 Hull or Castle Hill Hospital  to Bridlington (via Beverley)

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.

Greater Hull services

Service 35 – Hull to Willerby

• Times changed for reliability.
• Journeys from Hull Interchange will now approach Spring Bank via Park Street, helping to speed up journeys and improve timekeeping.

Beverley Road Lines - 45 Hull to Castle Hill Hospital

• Times changed for reliability.

Beverley Road Lines - 43 Hull to Beverley and Butterfly Meadows

• Times changed for reliability.

Anlaby Road Lines 51 – Hull to Wymersley Road

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.
• Journeys from Hull will serve Wymersley Road in one direction, forming a loop via Willerby Road, right onto Wymersley Road (Highway Pub), then continuing on the normal route.
• Some early morning journeys will start from Willerby Square.
• Journeys into Hull will operate via Park Street to Hull Interchange.
• If you are continuing your journey, you can stay on the bus at Hull Interchange, as most services will continue through the City Centre Loop on their return journey.
• Certain journeys will not continue through the City Centre Loop. These will be shown in the timetable and announced on board using our next stop announcements where fitted.

Anlaby Road Lines 52 – Hull to Anlaby to Willerby

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.
• We are pleased to extend Monday to Saturday daytime journeys beyond Spire Hospital, operating via:
  • Beverley Road, Gorton Road, The Parkway, Well Lane, Main Street, to Kingston Road (Willerby Square)
• Buses will return via:
  • Kingston Road, Gorton Road, Beverley Road.
• This provides residents in the Willerby Parkway area with new direct links to Hull, Hull Royal Infirmary, and an additional bus per hour from Willerby Square.
• Journeys into Hull will operate via Park Street to Hull Interchange.
• If you are continuing your journey, you can stay on the bus at Hull Interchange, as most services will continue through the City Centre Loop on their return journey.
• Certain journeys will not continue through the City Centre Loop. These will be shown in the timetable and announced on board using our next stop announcements where fitted.

Anlaby Road Lines 53 - Hull to Swanland

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.
• Journeys into Hull will operate via Park Street to Hull Interchange.
• If you are continuing your journey, you can stay on the bus at Hull Interchange, as most services will continue through the City Centre Loop on their return journey.
• Certain journeys will not continue through the City Centre Loop. These will be shown in the timetable and announced on board using our next stop announcements where fitted.

Anlaby Road Lines 54 - Hull to Castle Hill Hospital

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.
• Journeys into Hull will operate via Park Street to Hull Interchange.
• If you are continuing your journey, you can stay on the bus at Hull Interchange, as most services will continue through the City Centre Loop on their return journey.
• Certain journeys will not continue through the City Centre Loop. These will be shown in the timetable and announced on board using our next stop announcements where fitted.

Anlaby Road Lines 55 - Hull to Goole via Elloughton

• Journeys into Hull will operate via Park Street to Hull Interchange.
• If you are continuing your journey, you can stay on the bus at Hull Interchange, as most services will continue through the City Centre Loop on their return journey.
• Certain journeys will not continue through the City Centre Loop. These will be shown in the timetable and announced on board using our next stop announcements where fitted.

Anlaby Road Lines 56 & 57 Castle Hill or Hessle to Longhill via Holderness Road

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.

Anlaby Road Lines 58 & 59 Hull to Hessle 

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.
• Journeys into Hull will operate via Park Street to Hull Interchange.
• If you are continuing your journey, you can stay on the bus at Hull Interchange, as most services will continue through the City Centre Loop on their return journey.
• Certain journeys will not continue through the City Centre Loop. These will be shown in the timetable and announced on board using our next stop announcements where fitted.

Service 104 Hull to Castle Hill Hospital 

• Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.
• Journeys from Hull Interchange will now approach Spring Bank via Park Street, helping to speed up journeys and improve timekeeping.

Service 183 Hessle Town Service

• After customer and stakeholder requests, the service will now serve Hessle Railway Station and the Priory Park and Ride Site, giving customers the option to shop at the Aldi Store.
