Service Changes from 6th September 2026
Today

We’re making a number of changes to our bus services across Hull, Scarborough, Bridlington, the East Riding and the York area from Sunday 6 September 2026 – with more frequent buses, new direct links and timetable improvements all on the way.
There’s plenty of good news, particularly for Sunday travellers. We’re doubling frequencies on some routes, creating new direct connections to key destinations including Hull Royal Infirmary and the MKM Stadium, and introducing extra journeys to give you more choice about when and where you travel.
We’re also making timetable adjustments across the network to improve reliability and reflect changing traffic conditions, helping our buses run more punctually throughout the day.
And as summer draws to a close, some of our seasonal services will change too – although on a few popular routes, we’re keeping the summer spirit going a little longer with services continuing into the autumn.
Whether it’s a more frequent Sunday bus, a new direct journey or a small change to your usual departure time, there’s plenty to look out for.
Here’s everything you need to know about what’s changing.
Scarborough
Services 2, 3, 4, 8, 9A, 9X & 28
We’re making minor timetable adjustments to help improve reliability and keep journeys running as punctually as possible.
Services 9, 9A, 9X 10, 10A
We’re adjusting the timetable to improve reliability.
There’s also a change at the Scalby end of the route. Services 9 and 10 will now start and finish at Scalby Post Office, rather than Scalby Road.
Services 7 & 7A
We’re making stopping arrangements simpler and more consistent.
All daytime journeys will start and finish at St Thomas Street.
Evening journeys will continue to start and finish at Westborough.
Service 12, 12A, 12C
We’re changing the route through Scarborough town centre.
From Castle Road, buses will run via Aberdeen Walk, Albemarle Crescent and Westborough, before continuing to Scarborough Railway Station.
Initially, buses won’t serve any additional stops along this new section of the route. We’ll keep this under review and consider whether further changes would benefit customers.
There are no changes to Service 12A.
We’re making changes to 12C school journeys to improve reliability and better match the Scarborough UTC school day.
The 07:05 journey from Bridlington will have additional running time built into its timetable. It will also serve Scarborough UTC from Filey Road before continuing to Scarborough Railway Station.
The afternoon journey from Scarborough UTC will also be retimed at the school’s request.
Service 13
As the summer season comes to an end, the additional shorter journeys between Scarborough and Filey/Primrose Valley will finish for the season. Buses on the 13 will continue to operate hourly between Bridlington and Scarborough.
Service 14
As the summer season comes to an end, our seasonal evening journeys on Service 14 will also finish for the year.
Service L28
The 07:15 journey from Scarborough will run 20 minutes later, helping pupils arrive at school closer to the start of the school day.
Beachcomber 99
There’s good news if you’re heading out along the Service 99 route: we’re extending the seasonal service until 1 November 2026.
Service 99 will run:
- Daily until Sunday 4 October
- On the weekends of 10–11 October and 17–18 October
- Daily from 24 October to 1 November
That means there are even more opportunities to enjoy the route into the autumn.
Scarborough Open Top Tour 100
Service 100 will finish for the season as the summer timetable comes to an end.
Hull
Services 24, 25, 35, 51, 52/53, 54 & 277
We’re making timetable adjustments to help improve reliability and keep services running more punctually.
The new timetables also reflect changing traffic conditions across Hull following the completion of the A63 works, including improvements to traffic flow along a number of our routes.
Service 20
We’re making a useful change to Service 20 in Hull city centre.
Buses will continue to follow their current route to Hull Interchange. From there, they’ll serve the City Centre Loop, running via:
Ferensway → Spencer Street → Prospect Street → Albion Street → Bond Street → Savile Street → Vernon Street → Queens Dock Avenue → Carr Lane
From Carr Lane, buses will rejoin the existing route towards the Park & Ride site.
Service 55
Service retimed for reliability, and will run via the City Centre loop in both directions again.
Services 56 & 57
We’re making timetable changes to improve reliability, alongside a doubled Sunday frequency between Bilton and Hull.
On Sundays, Services 56 and 57 will combine to provide a bus every 15 minutes between Bilton and Hull.
From Hull, buses will then continue:
- Every 30 minutes to Hessle on Service 57
- Every 30 minutes to Castle Hill Hospital on Service 56
Together, that means more frequent buses on the shared section of the route and more choice when travelling on a Sunday.
Services 45 & 58
We’re simplifying the network, with Service 58 replacing Service 45.
Service 58 will follow its current route towards Anlaby Road, but will no longer run via Park Street.
Instead, buses will complete the City Centre Loop before continuing to Castle Hill Hospital using the current Service 45 route.
As well as making the network simpler, this creates useful new direct links from Beverley Road to Hull Royal Infirmary and the MKM Stadium.
We’re also doubling the Sunday frequency on Service 58, with buses running every 30 minutes instead of every hour, giving customers more choice and flexibility when travelling on Sundays.
In the evenings, journeys which currently run between Hull and the University will be extended through to Castle Hill Hospital. This means a more consistent route throughout the day, as well as more evening journey opportunities to and from Castle Hill Hospital and destinations along the route.
Service 59
Journeys currently extended to Bridgehead Business Park will be renumbered Service 58.
Services 104 & 105
We’re giving customers more choice between Hull and Cottingham.
Alongside timetable changes to Service 104, we’re introducing additional shorter journeys between Hull Interchange and Cottingham, numbered Service 105.
Together, Services 104 and 105 will provide four buses an hour between Hull and Cottingham during some parts of the weekday and Saturday timetable.
That means a more frequent service and greater flexibility when planning your journey.
Services 78 & 79
We’re extending Services 78 and 79 beyond Hull Interchange.
Buses will continue via Park Street to Anlaby Road (Silver Cod), creating useful new direct links from Hedon to Hull Royal Infirmary and the MKM Stadium.
East Riding
Services X46 & X47
We’re making minor changes to some evening journeys to address timetable issues and help services run more reliably.
Goole Town Services G1–G5 & Service 88
We’re making timetable changes to Goole Town Services G1–G5 and Service 88 to help improve reliability and keep journeys running more punctually.
The changes will also help to address some of the current issues around bus stopping arrangements on North Street,
Further changes coming in November
There will be some further changes to East Riding services in November, following the half-term holidays and the end of the summer season.
We’re still finalising the revised arrangements and will share full details as soon as they’re confirmed, giving customers time to plan ahead.
Bridlington
Service 12C
We’re adjusting school journeys to improve reliability and better match the Scarborough UTC school day.
The morning journey will run up to five minutes earlier and will serve Scarborough UTC before Scarborough Railway Station.
In the afternoon, the bus will leave Scarborough UTC at:
- 14:45 Monday to Thursday
- 15:45 on Friday
If you use Service 12C for school, please check the new timetable before travelling.
Service 501
We’re making two changes to weekday afternoon journeys to provide better connections.
Monday to Friday:
- The 14:00 from Bridlington Bus Station, which currently finishes at Bempton Lane, will continue from Bempton Lane at 14:33 back to Bridlington Bus Station.
The current 15:33 from Bempton Lane will instead begin at Bridlington Bus Station at 15:00.
York area
Services 82, 83 & 84
We’re making timetable changes to Services 82, 83 and 84 to help improve reliability and keep journeys running more punctually.
As the summer season comes to an end, the seasonal extension to Fountains Abbey will also finish for the year.
Please check the new timetable before travelling, as some journey times may have changed.
Service X81
The seasonal Sunday service on Service X81 will continue until 1 November 2026, giving customers more opportunities to travel on the route into the autumn.

The new timetables take effect from Sunday 7 September 2026, unless otherwise stated.
