Children Under 16 Travel Free on East Yorkshire Buses This August

East Yorkshire Buses is helping families make the most of the summer holidays by offering free travel for children under 16 on the majority of its bus services throughout August, thanks to the UK Government's Great British Summer Savings initiative.

From 1–31 August (inclusive), children aged under 16 can travel free on all East Yorkshire Buses routes, with the exception of the following services:

• Scarborough Park & Ride – 64 and 165
• Bridlington Park & Ride – 520
• Scarborough Seafront Open Top Beachcomber – 99
• Scarborough Open Top Tour – 100
• York Raceday Service – 197
• Any special or event services

The summer holidays are a fantastic time to get out and explore, but we know the cost of family days out can quickly add up. By removing the cost of children's bus fares, East Yorkshire Buses is helping families save money before they've even reached their destination.

Whether you're heading to the coast, visiting friends and family, enjoying a shopping trip, or discovering local attractions, travelling by bus is a convenient, affordable and environmentally friendly way to travel.

The free travel offer forms part of the Government's Great British Summer Savings campaign, which is designed to help families enjoy more for less this summer. Alongside free bus travel for children, families can also benefit from savings at a range of attractions across England, making it even easier to plan memorable days out.

The free travel offer is available from 1 August until 31 August 2026 and applies to all East Yorkshire Buses services except:

• Scarborough Park & Ride (64 & 165)
• Bridlington Park & Ride (520)
• Scarborough Beachcomber (99)
• Scarborough Open Top Tour (100)
• York Raceday Service (197)
• Special and event services
