On Wednesday, 8 March, we won ‘Most Supportive Employer of the Year’ at Bishop Burton College’s first ever Sustainable Futures and Employers Awards.
We were delighted to receive the award of 'Most Supportive Employer of the Year' at Bishop Burton College's first ever Employer Awards, recognising the support, dedication and opportunities the college's industry partners provide for their students.
Here at East Yorkshire, we're proud to support and work alongside local business, colleges and other institutions, to help create the next generation of bus. That's why we were thrilled to receive the award of 'Most Supportive Employer of the Year' at Bishop Burton College's first ever Sustainable Futures and Employers Awards.
Once a week, we invite Land-based Engineering students to our depots to mentor them and provide valuable industry experience, allowing them to really see what the bus industry can be like from behind the scenes.
Robert Gibson, our Chief Engineer, said: "We're really pleased to have received this award, and for being able to assist Bishop Burton College students with their placements. East Yorkshire, have a long history of working with Bishop Burton College, and it's really great to see some of the bright minds that will be joining the engineering sphere in the near future."
