Service Changes from 31 May 2026

We’d like to let customers know about a number of changes to our network taking place at the end of May 2026.

Services 504, 513, 535 and 594 are supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council using UK Government funding. Following a review of passenger numbers across these services, the Council has decided to withdraw funding for a number of journeys where usage has remained low.

As a result, the following changes will take place:

Service 504 – Bridlington – Buckton / Bempton / Flamborough

• Friday and Saturday evening journeys will end after Saturday 30 May 2026.
• Daytime buses on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays will continue to run as normal.

Service 513 – Bridlington Town Evenings

• Friday and Saturday evening journeys will end after Saturday 30 May 2026.

Service 535 – Driffield – Fridaythorpe – Driffield (Saturdays)

• This service will end after Saturday 30 May 2026.

Service 594 – Fridaythorpe – Millington – Pocklington

• This service will end after Tuesday 26 May 2026.

We know these changes may be disappointing for some customers and we would like to thank everyone who has travelled with us on these services.

Additional Network Updates

Service 15

From Sunday 31 May 2026, Service 15 will return to operating on Sundays and Bank Holidays only, with a revised timetable.

Earlier this year, many customers told us that Bishopthorpe was underserved, with only one bus per hour into York. In response to that feedback, we worked hard to introduce weekday and Saturday journeys on Service 15 avoiding the South Bank area and getting into York fast, complementing service 11 by offering an extra bus per hour between Bishopthorpe and York.

From 1 June 2026, First York will introduce additional Service 11A journeys to complement the 11, meaning Bishopthorpe will continue to benefit from two buses per hour throughout the day.

Unfortunately, with another operator now providing the additional frequency, it is no longer commercially viable for us to continue operating weekday and Saturday journeys on Service 15.

We would like to sincerely thank everybody who has supported the service since launch. The feedback we’ve received about the route, and especially about our fantastic team of drivers, has been incredible. Our drivers have genuinely loved getting to know so many regular customers, and it has been wonderful to see the service become part of the local community.

While weekday and Saturday journeys are coming to an end, we’re very much looking forward to continuing to welcome you onboard every Sunday and Bank Holiday.

New X81 Sunday Service to Castle Howard

We’re also pleased to introduce a new seasonal Sunday service to Castle Howard for the summer season.

Service X81 will run from Station Avenue to Castle Howard via Stonebow, then avoiding the A64 jams via Huntington, Strensall, Sheriff Hutton and Bulmer.

There will also be an 0813 journey from Sheriff Hutton to York — ideal for a summer day out.
