Discover the Wonders of Scarborough with the Beachcomber!
South Bay: South Bay With a majestic sweep of sandy beach, Scarborough’s South Bay has something for everyone. Take a dip in the sea, play the slots in the amusement arcades, let the kiddies loose in Luna Park, stroll round the harbour or just enjoy an award-winning ice cream or some tasty fish ’n’ chips. Watch out for seagulls - they get hungry too
Scarborough Spa: This venue for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment, live music and events was originally built around the source of Scarborough's spa waters. The Grand Hall seats 1,500 and the 557-seat Spa Theatre is home to summer shows and Christmas pantomimes. The nearby Victorian funicular links the Spa complex with South Cliff, 200 ft above.
Peasholm Park: This is an absolute must when you’re in Scarborough. Stroll through a beautiful glen, row on the boating lake or bring a picnic and just soak up the atmosphere.
Art & Culture: If you fancy delving into Scarborough’s past, just beyond the Grand Hotel dominating Scarborough’s skyline is the Rotunda Museum. Or walk up on the hill to discover the town’s art gallery.
North Bay Railway: Ride a miniature train, explore the Sky Trail, slide down the Water Chute, face the challenge of the Water Balls or take things more leisurely on the boating lake.
Scarborough Castle: With stupendous views over the dramatic Yorkshire coastline, the castle has 3,000 years of history to discover and is well worth the climb. There’s a great café, too.
