Be Safe, Be Seen this Autumn and Winter
As autumn settles in and winter approaches, we're committed to ensuring your journey with us is safe, comfortable, and smooth, whether you're hopping on board for work, school, or leisure. Here are a few updated tips to help you navigate the shorter days with ease:
Stand Out to Stay Safe:
With the nights arriving earlier, being visible is essential. Throw on a high-vis jacket or wear some bright, colourful clothing to make it easier for our drivers to spot you.
If you're waiting at an unlit bus stop, crank up your phone brightness, but please keep your torch function turned off to keep our drivers' vision crystal clear.
Also, grab a road-safe reflective snap band! Passengers can ask their drivers for a ‘Be Safe, Be Seen’ snap band, subject to availability, to help improve visibility, especially during early mornings or evenings.
These bands are also available at the Hull Travel Centre desk.
Track Your Bus Live:
Don’t wait out in the cold! Use the East Yorkshire Buses app for real-time tracking to see exactly when your bus will arrive. Even though our buses are reliably equipped with tech, arriving a little early to your stop is always a good idea, just in case WiFi or network connections are slow.
Stay Alert:
Keep your phone handy but try saving music or calls for later. Staying aware of your surroundings keeps you safe and in the know about what's happening around you.
Unsure? We’re Here to Help:
Your comfort and safety are always top priorities. If something doesn’t feel right, you can rely on us—just flag down one of our buses, and our team will help make sure you get home safe and sound.
