North Riding Service 81: Temporary Saturday Route Changes in York City Centre
Effective Saturdays: 7th, 14th, and 21st December 2024
North Riding Service 81 will operate a revised route in York City Centre on three Saturdays to improve service reliability during the busy festive season. These changes are intended to reduce delays caused by increased traffic.
What’s Changing?
York City Centre journeys will start and end at York Stonebow on these Saturdays.
The following stops will not be served on these dates:
Station Avenue
Rougier Street
Ouse Bridge
Why Are We Making These Changes?
The festive period increases traffic, causing delays for Service 81 and affecting Service 194 (Malton – Hovingham), which often follows the 81. By temporarily adjusting the route on Saturdays to avoid traffic hotspots, we aim to deliver a more reliable service, particularly for those travelling from outlying villages.
What Does This Mean for You?
Some delays may still occur but should be less frequent and shorter.
You can track your bus in real-time using the East Yorkshire Buses app, available for free on the App Store and Google Play Store.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to improve your travel experience during this busy period.
