East Yorkshire Buses is proud to support the Armed Forces community across our region. As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we recognise the contribution made by serving personnel, reservists, veterans, cadet volunteers and military families — both to our business and to the country.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a national promise that those who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces — and their families — should be treated fairly and should not face disadvantage in accessing public or commercial services.

We are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the Armed Forces community, whether as colleagues, customers, partners or members of the communities we serve.

This includes recognising the value of the skills, experience and dedication that members of the Armed Forces community bring, and making sure our policies, recruitment activity and public services reflect that commitment.

How we show our support

We are proud to mark important moments of remembrance and recognition across the year. This includes offering free travel to veterans and serving Armed Forces personnel on key dates such as Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, helping people attend local services, parades and community events.

Where it is safe and practical to do so, our teams also observe the two-minute silence, and buses may display messages of remembrance as a visible sign of respect for those who have served and sacrificed.

We also support Armed Forces Day and other local commemorative activity, recognising the important role the Armed Forces community plays in towns and cities across East Yorkshire and beyond.
