Price includes:

Four or five nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast.
Return ferry crossing.
Train journey from Douglas to Port Erin.

Itinerary:

Day one:
We head to catch the ferry with a comfort stop on the way. We have chance to relax before digging into our evening meal.

Day two:
On our first day we get to know Douglas, the Isle of Man’s capital town. Home to the island’s government and main financial sector, Douglas offers beautiful scenery and excellent shopping, not forgetting the Manx Museum which features displays of Viking gold.

Day three:
Today we enjoy a guided tour of the island, visiting Peel, Ramsay and Laxey – an excellent way to see the sights and learn about the history of the island.

Day four:
After breakfast, we take a steam train ride from Douglas to Port Erin, ending with the opportunity to enjoy free time in Port Erin. We then take the short journey to Port St. Mary where we have more free time.

Day five:
We cross the Fairy Bridge on the way to Castletown, not forgetting to greet the little people “good day” along the way. Castletown was once the ancient capital of Mann and retains much of its former splendour.

Day six:
On our final day, we take the early morning ferry back to the mainland and begin our journey home.

On the five-day holiday itinerary, we visit Castletown on day two after free time in Douglas in the morning, and travel home on day five. Days one, three and four remain the same.

Chesterhouse, Douglas - September (***)
Located within easy walking distance of the main town and overlooking Douglas Bay, the three-star Chesterhouse Hotel offers great hospitality, service and food. All rooms are warmly decorated and include TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Please be aware there are six steps to access the building.

Rutland Hotel - April (***)
The Rutland Hotel is about 15 minutes’ walk from Douglas city centre. The hotel is set in the vicinity of the breathtaking beach, which is 1km away. The hotel has a lift and an indoor swimming pool.
