Itinerary:

Day one:
We make our way to the hotel, with a couple of comfort stops on the journey. We are then welcomed with tea and coffee on arrival.

Day two:
We have a nice leisurely start to our day at our hotel, before heading into the city mid-morning, to begin our exclusive two-and-a-half-hour food tour. We’re guided around Liverpool city centre on foot, learning about the city’s history as we tuck into a three-course lunch at three separate independent and award-winning outlets. What could be better than discovering Liverpool as we eat and drink! We then have the rest of the day free to enjoy the city as we please.

Day three:
Today is all about celebrating the Beatles. Our first visit is to Strawberry Fields, the iconic site immortalised by John Lennon’s “Strawberry Fields Forever” and was originally the site for a Salvation Army children’s home, where John Lennon would have played in the grounds. Our visit is a self-guided journey around the interactive museum where we have a chance to escape into the past before we enjoy a cream tea. We finish our day at The Beatles Story, the world’s largest permanent exhibition where we are transported on an incredible journey of the Fab Four and see how they changed the world of music forever.

Day four:
After breakfast we head to Chester for the day, with plenty of free time to explore its bewitching beauty, unique atmosphere and rich history etched into the very fabric of the city.

Day five:
On our final, day we enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading home, arriving late afternoon.

Part of the Marriott and Starwood hotel brand, the Aloft Liverpool occupies the stunning, elegant, former Royal Insurance Building, which was converted into this modern and contemporary four-star city hotel. Still retaining many of its original features, the hotel is less than 10 minutes’ walk to the Liverpool One shopping centre and 15 minutes’ walk to the historic Albert Dock. All bedrooms differ in size due to the structure of the building, but all are to a high standard and well equipped with a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities in each room, and all have a walk-in shower. The large modern restaurant and bar boast huge ceilings and lots of natural daylight and is a perfect space for enjoying a drink. The hotel has a lift.
