11th - 13th October
The Wartime Weekend is the highlight of the year in Pickering.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway are running their Railway in Wartime event, and it's so popular that 1940s events have sprung up all across the town.
Attractions include singing, dancing, workshops, parades and fashion shows, plus living history showcases, period vehicle exhibitions and re-enactments.
At Pickering Station you can hop on board steam and heritage diesel trains, and there's a visual display of the first 24 hours on the D-Day beaches.
Why not get into the spirit of things and dress up in period costume?!
To get there by bus, catch our Service 128 from Scarborough to Pickering.
Certain events in Pickering will have entry charges.
