Hull Marathon 2019

1 week ago Tue 10th Sep 2019

Hull Marathon on Sunday 22 September will result in some diversions for buses in and around Hull, in particular in Hull City Centre. The marathon has a new point to point route for 2019 which continues to capture the excitement and energy of the event, contributing to Hull's cultural offering while minimising disruption on the day.

Service 56/57

Buses will not serve Hessle until the Service 57 which leaves Longhill at 10.41am and Hessle Square at 11.40am. Before this time, buses will travel as far as Summergroves Way only, and Summergroves Way will only be served heading towards Hull.

Some delays are expected between 10am and 12noon at the bus-only crossing point on Hessle Road/Boulevard.

Buses to the east of the city centre will divert between 10am and 2pm via George Street, North Bridge, Cleveland Street and Mount Pleasant to/from Holderness Road, not serving its usual route of Alfred Gelder Street, Drypool Bridge & Clarence Street.

Service 66

Early morning buses will run as normal.  The 8.40am and 9.40am departures from Hull Interchange will divert from Anlaby Road via Anlaby High Road, Hull Road, First Lane, Cottesmore Road, Sunningdale Road and Beverley Road, terminating on Swanland Road at Cemetery Corner.  The 10.05am and 10.35am buses will follow the same route but will continue on to serve Hessle Road.

The 9.10am, 9.40am and 10.10am buses from Hessle will start at Cemetery Corner on Swanland Road then run via Beverley Road, Sunningdale Road, Cottesmore Road, First Lane, Hull Road and Anlaby High Road to Anlaby Road.

The 10.40am bus from Hessle Square will start from the Square as usual, but then follow the above diversion route.

Normal service will resume around 11am.

Service 75

Buses will divert between 10am and 12noon via George Street, North Bridge, Cleveland Street and Mount Pleasant to/from Holderness Road.

Service 155

The bus which leaves South Cave at 9.07am will divert after Ferriby High Road via Boothferry Road, First Lane, Hull Road, Anlaby High Road and Anlaby Road.

The bus which leaves Hull Interchange at 10.15am will divert via Anlaby Road, Anlaby High Road, First Lane and Boothferry Road to Ferriby High Road, then following its usual route.

Other Service 155 buses are unaffected.

Service 240

Buses will divert between 10am and 12noon via George Street, North Bridge, Cleveland Street and Mount Pleasant to/from Holderness Road.

Service 350

Buses operated by Stagecoach may be affected.  East Yorkshire-operated buses will follow the normal route.

Hull City Centre

Buses arriving into Hull Interchange after 9.30am and until at least 1pm will not run via the city centre loop, including Carr Lane and Alfred Gelder Street.

Buses from Spring Bank/Beverley Road will use Brook Street, directly to the Interchange.

Buses heading into Hull via Anlaby Road will divert via Ferensway and buses leaving Hull Interchange for this route will operate via Park Street, also not serving the section of Anlaby Road closest to Ferensway.

Holderness Road/Cleveland Street buses will use North Bridge and George Street until around 2pm when Witham reopens.

Anlaby Road bus stops

The stops at Saner Street and the KCOM Stadium/West Park heading out of the city centre will not be served between around 9.30am and 12noon due to bus lane closures to allow a safe route for runners.  Anlaby Road itself remains open with speed restrictions in place.
