Explore the Cotswolds and feast your eyes on architectural gems like Tewkesbury Abbey, Sudeley Castle and Gloucester Cathedral, as well as the spectacular scenery of the Wye Valley.

Itinerary:

Day one:
We make our way to the hotel, with a couple of comfort stops on the journey, we are welcomed with tea and coffee on arrival.

Day two:
This morning we have free time to explore Ledbury, which is home to several unique timber-framed buildings. We then visit Tewkesbury for lunch, before heading to Tewkesbury Abbey where we enjoy a 45-minute guided tour of the stunning Abbey, marvelling at the fine medieval architecture

Day three:
We start our day at Sudeley Castle, which remains the only private castle in England to have a queen buried within its grounds – Catherine Parr, who lived and died here. In the afternoon, we take a scenic drive through the Cotswolds. The charming village of Bourton on the Water is regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England. We then drive through the market town of Stow on the Wold before returning to our hotel.

Day four:
We spend this morning at leisure in Gloucester exploring its attractions, such as the medieval Cathedral, which was used in most of the Harry Potter films as Hogwarts. Time permitting, we could also take a 45-minute sail around the quays and docks. In the afternoon, we head to the market town of Ross-on-Wye where we enjoy some free time. After our visit we could detour to the spectacular Symonds Yat, renowned for is natural river scenery and the magnificent view.

Day five:
On our final, day we enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading home, arriving late afternoon.

This modern four-star hotel is located on the edge of the Cotswolds and just 15 minutes from the centre of Gloucester. All 95 wellsized bedrooms are equipped with hairdryer, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel does not have a lift, but there are 22 rooms on the ground floor (NB. there are some steps to negotiate to access some areas within the hotel). There is a stylish brasserie restaurant and wine bar situated on the ground floor and the hotel’s excellent leisure facilities include an indoor pool, spa bath, sauna, and steam room.
