Child fares

From 1 September 2019 we're revamping our child tickets, and starting some great new offers to help make it easier and cheaper for children to travel on the bus.

Child single and return tickets

Children aged under 16 can buy a child single, child return or child day ticket on our buses.  These are around half the price of a normal adult ticket, providing a big saving.  During weekends and school holidays you can save even more with our Young Adventurer fares.

You can buy any child single/return/day ticket from the bus driver, using cash or contactless.

Some day tickets are also available on the EY Buses app.

Children approaching the age of 16 may be asked for ID by the driver when purchasing or using a child ticket.

There are too many different fare possibilities to list here, but to get an idea of how much your journey will cost see our Common Fares Guide, ring BusLine on 01482 59 29 29.

KAT Cards - multi-operator tickets for kids and teenagers in Hull

If you're 19 and under and live in Hull, KAT Cards are a great way to get around.

It's a Hull bus pass, valid anywhere in Hull, Anlaby, Cottingham, Hessle, Wawne and Willerby.  It can be used on East Yorkshire AND Stagecoach buses, and you can use it for an unlimited number of journeys.

And the best news?  It's only £10 a week.

To get a KAT Card, pop into Hull Interchange and go to the Stagecoach travel shop.  You'll need to take proof of age and proof you live in Hull.  You can buy a smartcard for just £1, plus £10 for a week of travel.  Then just hop on the bus and put your card on the ticket machine, and it'll be valid for as many journeys as you like for a week.  Once you've got your card, you can top it up with a further week's travel on any East Yorkshire or Stagecoach bus.

The KAT Card is funded by Hull City Council's bus lane penalty charges, and is a partnership between the council, East Yorkshire, Stagecoach and the Young People's Parliament.
