Temporary changes to Hull weekend buses

2 weeks ago Wed 11th Nov 2020

From Sunday 15 November we will be making some temporary changes to weekend buses in Hull, in response to lockdown passenger numbers.

Some weekend services in Hull which are not carrying many passengers will be changed to allow us to allocate resources to where they are needed most.

The routes affected are:

  • Service 33/44 - these buses will run every 15 minutes during the day on Saturdays.  See the new Service 33/44 Saturday timetable.
  • Service 56 - these buses won't run during the day on Saturdays, but Service 57 will continue running as normal.
  • Service 63 - these buses will run every 30 minutes during the day on Saturdays.  See the new Service 63 Saturday timetable.
  • Service 66 - these buses will run every 15 minutes during the day on Saturdays.  See the new Service 66 Saturday timetable.
  • Service 103 - these buses won't run on Saturdays or Sundays.
  • Service 104 - these buses will run every 30 minutes during the day on Saturdays.  See the new Service 104 Saturday timetable.
  • Service 105 - these buses will run every 30 minutes during the day on Saturdays.  See the new Service 105 Saturday timetable.
  • Service 151 & 153 - these buses will run at slightly different times during the day on Saturdays.  See the new Service 151/153 Saturday timetable.
  • Service 152 - these buses won't run on Saturdays.
  • Service 154 - these buses will run every 30 minutes during the day on Saturdays.  See the new Service 154 Saturday timetable.

There will be no change to any buses on weekdays, and services outside of Hull will also remain running as normal.

Ben Gilligan, East Yorkshire’s Area Director, said: “Since the second lockdown started, we’ve had to furlough a number of our bus drivers due to pre-existing medical conditions, and we also have some staff who have been asked to self-isolate.  By retiming quiet journeys during the weekend, it allows us to reallocate our resources during the week onto routes that are being used by more people.”

Those who are travelling during lockdown should continue to follow safety advice, including:

  • Travelling at quiet times, where possible
  • Washing your hands before and after travelling
  • Paying by contactless or buying a ticket on the East Yorkshire Buses app, rather than paying with cash
  • Wearing a face covering throughout the journey
  • Staying at home and not travelling if you have any coronavirus symptoms, however mild

We'll return to our normal weekend timetables from Saturday 5 December, subject to lockdown restrictions being lifted then.
