Bus out to help out!
People across the East Yorkshire network can now take a friend or family member on the bus with them for free when travelling in the evening, to help kick start the night-time economy in towns and cities across the region.
The ‘Bus Out to Help Out’ offer will allow anyone who buys a single or return ticket on an East Yorkshire bus after 7pm in the evening to bring along a fellow traveller completely free of charge.
We’re offering the discount ticket deal throughout September to help encourage people to support local restaurants and hospitality businesses, following the ending of the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
Simply buy a single or return ticket on any bus after 7pm and your friend or family member travelling with you can board for free.
So you can go out for a cosy dinner with your partner, a trip to the cinema with your son, or a quick drink with a friend, for less!
Terms and conditions:
Offer only valid from 7pm each evening, any day during September. The ticket bought can be a child or adult single or return between any two points, but must be equal or greater value to the free ticket for the friend, i.e. if an adult buys a ticket they can bring an adult or a child along with them, but if a child buys the ticket, they cannot get a free ticket for an accompanying adult. If buying a return, the person who travels free will get a ticket which they must show on their return journey, and any return journeys must be used that same evening. Tickets bought before 7pm cannot be used to allow someone else to travel free. Not valid on weekly or day rover tickets, or on special services such as open top buses. The person using the free ticket must be travelling together with a full-price ticket holder. Not valid on app tickets.
